Student Membership
Student members receive access to the Society’s publications, including the latest issues of Archaeologia Cantiana and the KAS Magazine, providing insight into current archaeological discoveries, historical research, and fieldwork taking place throughout the county. These publications are valuable resources for students wishing to deepen their knowledge and support their academic studies.
Student members can also make use of the Kent Archaeological Society Library and Archive at Maidstone Museum. The collection includes specialist books, journals, excavation reports, maps, and historic records relating to Kent’s archaeology and local history. Access to these materials can be particularly helpful for coursework, dissertations, and independent research, offering primary and specialist sources that are not always available through university libraries.
In addition, student members receive notifications of lectures, conferences, field visits, and events organised by the Society and its affiliated groups across Kent. These events provide opportunities to learn from experienced archaeologists and historians, visit important heritage sites, and build connections within the field. Students are also informed about volunteering opportunities, including excavations, surveys, and research projects, giving valuable practical experience and a chance to become actively involved in exploring and preserving Kent’s rich past. Best of all, student membership is completely free, making it an accessible way to gain experience, knowledge, and professional connections while studying.
Free membership is available to registered students aged 18+ studying any subject at any institution worldwide.
