Membership

Members receive access to the latest issues of the Society’s publications, including the annual scholarly journal Archaeologia Cantiana and the KAS Magazine, which provide authoritative research, excavation reports, discoveries, and accessible articles on Kent’s rich past. These publications keep members informed about new archaeological work, historical interpretations, and ongoing projects across the county, making them invaluable resources for both professional researchers and enthusiastic amateurs.

Membership also provides access to the Kent Archaeological Society Library and Archive, housed at Maidstone Museum. This extensive collection includes rare books, historic documents, excavation reports, maps, photographs, and specialist research material relating to Kent’s archaeology and local history. Whether you are undertaking academic research, tracing local heritage, or simply exploring an interest in the county’s past, the library and archive offer an exceptional resource that is not widely available elsewhere.

In addition, members receive regular notifications about lectures, conferences, field trips, and other events organised by the Society and its affiliated groups across Kent. These events provide opportunities to learn from leading historians and archaeologists, visit historic sites, and meet others who share an interest in the county’s heritage. Members are also informed about volunteering opportunities, including archaeological excavations, field surveys, research projects, and heritage initiatives. Through these activities, membership not only offers knowledge and resources but also the chance to actively participate in discovering, preserving, and sharing Kent’s past.

Individual Membership costs £40 per year.
