Action Required: Help Protect the Kent Downs’ At-Risk Heritage

With nearly 20% of our 102 scheduled monuments currently "At Risk," we are bidding for funding to launch a coordinated conservation program. If successful, the project will deliver:

  • Essential Works: Targeted repairs, condition surveys, and stabilization.

  • Community Archaeology: 3D modelling, volunteer training, and an Adopt a Monument scheme.

  • Climate Resilience: Mitigation strategies for climate-related threats to heritage.

We need your expertise. To ensure this project reflects the priorities of the archaeological community, please complete our consultation survey by midnight, Tuesday 30 June 2026.

Visit the website to complete the survey - https://letstalk.kent.gov.uk/echoes-of-the-past

Your input is critical to securing the funding needed to preserve these echoes of our past.

Best regards,

The Kent Downs National Landscape Team
