KAS AGM 2026

  • Lenham Community Centre 12 Groom Way Lenham, England, ME17 2QT United Kingdom (map)

Due to timing issues this years AGM has now been moved to the 30th May and will be held at Lenham Community Centre.

The AGM is to include a talk by Dr Sam Moorhead ‘Roman Kent - a Biography through its Coin-finds’

Several excavations in Kent have resulted in impressive coin-lists, most notably Richborough where over 50,000 coins have been found.  In addition, there are over 120 coin hoards from the County, all recorded in summary form on the Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS) database.  Finally, over 7,400 single finds of Roman coins have been recorded with the PAS, providing vital data for sites otherwise not recorded in the numismatic record. This talk will summarise the various coin finds and discuss their impact on the archaeological and historical narrative for Roman Kent.

Tickets are free but must be booked in advance. Please note this event is for members of the Kent Archaeological Society only.

Transport: Free car parking at venue. Lenham Station is a 20-minute walk away. Stagecoach 510 bus service between Maidstone and Ashford stops at Lenham

Any questions regarding the AGM should be sent to membership@kentarchaeology.org.uk
