Lees Court Lithics
Yesterday society Curator Andy and #Lithics volunteer Angela headed back to Lees Court Estate to undertake the process of sorting out the flint assemblage so that they can be sent off for specialist analysis.
#FindsFriday: Lees Court finds
It was a rather wet #findsfriday today! Although this meant little chance of digging, it did mean the team were able to sort all of the washed and dried finds from this year's excavations.
#FindsFriday Lees Court pot washing
It's #findsfriday and on such a bright and sunny day the conditions are perfect for #potwashing! This large lump of mud was hiding a beautifully decorated piece of #Mortlake #neolithic pottery dating from c. 3350 - 2900/2700 BC.
Lees Court Estate flint
A rather nice flint for #findsfriday #flintfriday from the #leescourt excavations in 2019... exhibits lots of retouch, so a tool of some description?
