#FindsFriday Lees Court pot washing

It's #findsfriday and on such a bright and sunny day the conditions are perfect for #potwashing!

This large lump of mud was hiding a beautifully decorated piece of #Mortlake #neolithic pottery dating from c. 3350 - 2900/2700 BC.

We dried it over the last few days to strengthen the fabric before Louise carefully washed it with a damp sponge. The decoration was come up beautifully!

We have other pieces drying which look to fit onto the larger portion so stay tuned!
