The Kent Archaeological Society welcomes interest from individuals who wish to support the Society’s work through volunteering or work experience placements. Opportunities may include assisting with collections care, archives, research, cataloguing, digitisation, and other heritage-related activities, depending on current projects and operational requirements. Due to current capacity and restricted office space, volunteering with the Society is subject to the completion of an Expression of Interest Form and confirmation by the Society Curator or Archivist. This process helps ensure that appropriate supervision, workspace, and meaningful activities can be provided.

Requests for formal work experience placements will also be considered by the Society, subject to the requested dates, staff capacity, safeguarding requirements, and ongoing project needs. Prospective placements will only be confirmed following a successful interview by members of the KAS management team. Unfortunately, the Society cannot guarantee that all requests will be accommodated.
Prospective volunteers and students are encouraged to provide details of their interests, availability, relevant experience or study area, and any placement requirements when making an enquiry.
The Kent Archaeological Society is committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment and will consider all expressions of interest fairly and in accordance with its charitable objectives and available resources.
