KAS acquires the significant Kent-focused archive of the late Paul Ashbee

Paul Ashbee was one of Britain's most influential archaeologists, renowned for his excavations of important prehistoric sites and for co-directing excavations at Sutton Hoo. In Kent, he is perhaps best remembered for his landmark publication Kent in Prehistoric Times (2005), which remains an essential resource for understanding the county's prehistoric past.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Ashbee family for their generous donation. We are also grateful to Dr Colin Shell, whose expertise and dedication were instrumental in organising the collection and facilitating its transfer to the Society.

This important archive will help support future research into Kent's rich archaeological heritage.
