The Britannia Award in recognition of outstanding voluntary contributions to Roman Archaeology in Britain
The Society for the Promotion of Roman Studies – Archaeology Committee is delighted to invite nominations for the annual Britannia Award, which recognises the contribution of volunteers to Roman archaeology in Britain. Both groups and individuals may be nominated.
Former Kent Archaeological Society Trustee Chris Blair-Myers was awarded the inaugural Britannia Award in 2023 for his exceptional work mapping archaeological features across Kent using cropmark and aerial photography data. This work resulted in the Archaeological Features Map hosted on the KAS website:
