The Early History of Hothfield

Local author and historian Dr. Kaye Sowden will present an illustrated talk giving an overview of the early history and development of the village. She will explain how the former Common became an area for early settlement and the influence of the Wealden landscape on the community’s development. The presentation will address Prehistoric, Roman, and Medieval archaeological discoveries, as well as relevant documents that provide context for the village’s growth.
