The lectures showcase recent research on the ‘Middle Ages’, speakers include Helen Castor, Marc Morris, Rachel Koopmans, David Carpenter, and Imogen Corrigan. The Weekend offers audiences talks under four themes: ‘Royalty and Nobility; ‘War and Politics’; ‘Religion and the Arts’ and ‘Social History’.
The Canterbury History Weekend is organised by the Canterbury Association for Medieval & Early Modern Studies (CAMEMS) and Kent MEMS. Any surplus goes to the CAMEMS bursaries fund to help postgraduates at Kent MEMS who are studying medieval and early modern research topics for higher degrees.
People book their chosen talks using a pick-and-mix approach. Tickets are £10 per person per talk. There is a discount bulk-buy ticket available and a special rate for students.
