Lees Court Estate Project Season 2024

The Kent Archaeological Society is resuming its investigation into the Prehistoric landscape at Lees Court Estate in 2024.

Richard Taylor will conduct geophysical surveys in the areas surrounding the current excavation sites between March and May 2024. These surveys will help identify potential targets for future investigations as part of the wider Lees Court Estate Project.

From April 15th to May 26th, Keith Parfitt will lead an excavation that will return to the ring ditch located in Stringmans Field. We're eager to complete the excavation of the ditch fill and build on the exciting evidence accumulated in 2023, indicating that the structure may be older than the Bronze Age.

We encourage members to join us for this exciting project! We'll keep you posted on all volunteer opportunities through VeryConnect, the Society website, and our Facebook page. So, stay tuned.
