Join us for a study day in the University of Kent's Special Collections and Archives to explore a range of sources, from pictorial maps to textual indentures, as well as examining the early development of antiquarian scholarship beginning in the Tudor period with William Lambarde's Perambulation of Kent. Through a series of workshops, we will investigate how historians assess and employ such sources in their own research into the county’s history. The day is designed to appeal to those new to studying regional history and those with some experience – together we will explore ideas about researching and writing about Kent's past.

The study day will take place on Saturday 14 February in the Templeman Library, University of Kent, from 10.30am to 4.30pm. Free parking is available on campus. We will provide tea and coffee, but please bring your own lunch or use campus catering outlets.
