#MuseumMonday: Moatenden Priory excavation archive

For #MuseumMonday the society is pleased to announce it has acquired the archive of excavations carried out at Moatenden Priory, Headcorn between 1990 - 1993. A big thank you to the excavator Neil Aldridge for donating the archive, which was accepted by the society's acquisitions panel.

Information on donating to the society can be found on our website: https://www.kentarchaeology.org.uk/guid.../collection-donors

The fieldwork was carried out by Neil Aldridge and a small team of KAS member, including two members of the then Council. The report for the project was eventually published in Archaeologia Cantiana Vol 115. (1995). This can be read on our website: https://www.kentarchaeology.org.uk/.../trinitarian-priory...

The archive will now be stored safely in our offices in Marsham Street, where it can be made available to researchers by appointment. We also hope to undertake digitisation of the archive to make it further available online.

Stay tuned as we share more about this archive.
