KAS Library & Archive

The Society Library & Archive at Maidstone Museum from which members and non-members may access our archival and library collection. Other archival material belonging to the KAS is deposited at the Kent History and Library Centre. Catalogue

 

 

Kent Archives

The central public authority county archives are at the Kent Archives and Local History Center in Maidstone, with records for North-West Kent at Medway Archives in Strood. A considerable amount of the Society's archives material is held at Maidstone. kentarchives.org.uk

The Historic Environment Record for Kent is maintained by Kent County Council, containing the locations and descriptions of all listed monuments in the county. webapps.kent.gov.uk

 

 

 

 

Kent LiDAR Portal

Launched in 2020, the Darent Valley Landscape Partnership Scheme (DVLPS) commissioned a LiDAR survey to provide detailed for heritage professionals, volunteer archaeologists, and interested members of the public alike. Free sign up is required. kentlidar.org.uk

 

 

 

Kent Maps Online

A collaboration between Canterbury Christ Church University and JSTOR Labs, the excellent Kent Maps Online website features interactive maps and illustrated themed essays. kent-maps.online

 

 

 

 

Parish boundaries map

Locating the relevant parish is important for identifying archives and registers of burials, baptisms and marriages. A map on ArcGIS is maintained by a private user. hub.arcgis.com
