406. Louisa wife of John Thomas BUTLER died 1March 1898 aged 77. He died 26 January 1900 aged 81.

407. Alfred George BUTLER of Brookland died 14 February 1910 in 90th year. Emily his wife 11 March 1909 in 81st year after 58 years married life. Emily their daughter 17 February 1876 aged 9.

408. Thomas BUTLER late of Brenzett 14 December 1863 aged 79. Ann his wife 25 October 1879 aged 88.

410. Elizabeth wife of John BUTLER, 16 May 1745 aged 60. John Butler 14 December 1746 aged 64. They left issue 4 sons and 1 daughter: Matthew, John, Thomas, Robert and Elizabeth.

411. Matthew BUTLER died May ye 21 1768 aged 55. Left issue by Ann his wife 2 sons and 1 daughter: Ann, John and Thomas.

412. Ann wife of Matthew BUTLER died 24 November 1780 aged 57.

413. Ann daughter of Matthew and Ann BUTLER died 17 March 1787 aged 29.

414. Martha Mary BUTLER daughter of John and Martha Butler of Brookland died 3 February 1899 aged 70.

415. Martha wife of John BUTLER of Brookland died 13 May 1855 in 68th year. Left surviving 6 sons and 2 daughters. John Butler her husband and son of John and Margaret Butler of this parish died 22 April 1881 aged 94.

416. Ann Reader daughter of John and Martha BUTLER of Brookland died 26 May 1883 aged 68.

417. Elizabeth SMALLBONE died 25 August 1907 aged 81.

418. Frederic BUTLER of Mortlake 3rd son of John and Martha Butler of Brookland died 12 July 1891 aged 71.

419. John BUTLER of Lydd died 25 August 1872 aged 58 leaving a wife and one son.

420. Matilda wife of John BUTLER of Lydd died 4 October 1884 aged 79.

421. Mary Ann wife of John Theophilus BUTLER of Lydd died 4 July 1878 aged 38. Annie Louisa daughter of above 8 September 1878 aged 2 years 2 months. John son of above 12 September 1878 aged 7 months.

424. Mary wife of Thomas BUTLER of parish of Brenzett, yeoman, died 25 June 1830 aged 46. Also six of their children who died young: Mary 14 August 1818 aged 1 year; William Edward 18 March 1822 aged 1 year; Thomas 12 August 1822 aged 10 years; Eliza 7 March 1826 aged 11 years; Mary 20 March 1826 aged 11 months. Margaret wife of William GRAVETT of Canterbury died 4 September 1848 aged 26. William Gravett her husband 3 March 1850 aged 30. William son of above Thomas Butler and Ann his wife died 4 January 1840 aged 7 years.

427. Hannah Margrett daughter of Matthew and Hannah Butler died 27 November 1827 aged 5 years. Also near two of their infants.

428. Thomas William BUTLER died 22 June 1863 aged 34. Left issue by Charlotte his wife 4 children: Agnes, Matthew, Charlotte and Catherine. Charlotte his wife died 10 May 1895 aged 61.

429. William OVENDEN husband of Jane Ovenden died 22 April 1907 aged 70.

430. Jane OVENDEN died 30 May 1909 aged 67.

431. Elsie Violet daughter of Thomas and Ethel COBB of Spring Farm, Ivychurch died 11 November 1918 aged 14 years 9 months. Henry Cobb died 4 March 1915 aged 80.

432. Henry ORMAN died 6 January 1904 aged 69. Jane his wife 25 April 1906 aged 73.

Under west window of south aisle an enclosure with five stones:-
433. Thomas BUTLER of this parish died 3 May 1813 aged 47. Left issue surviving by Catharine his wife, one son: Thomas.

434. Catharine relict of Thomas BUTLER, late of this parish died 1 March 1854 in 90th year.

435. Elizabeth wife of Thomas BUTLER died 28 January 1838 in 52nd year.

436. Thomas BUTLER died 19 October 1861 aged 73.

437. Charlotte wife of Thomas BUTLER died 28 February 1877 aged 62.

438. John CONSTABLE late of New Romney died 1 May 1802 aged 46. Left issue by Mary his wife daughter of William MARTIN formerly of this parish, 3 children: John, Mary-Ann and William.

439. Mary, widow of John CONSTABLE late of New Romney died 18 December 1817 aged 67. John and Mary Ann Constable her son and daughter: who survive her caused this stone to be erected.

440. William CONSTABLE, son of John and Mary Constable of New Romney, died 11 May 1810 aged 23.

441. Elizabeth BRAZIER, widow, late of New Romney, died 18 January 1809 aged 78. She had issue by her first husband William CONSTABLE formerly of Rye one son, John, who lies here interrid and by her second husband, James Brazier of the same place one daughter: (Sally) married to William COATS (sic) [Perhaps LLD felt this is the wrong name or spelling] of New Romney, Gentleman, who survives her.

442. William MARTIN died April ye 19 1751 aged 33. Left issue by Ann his wife one son and one daughter: William and Mary.

443. John REYNOLDS of Snave died 8 July 1781 aged 38.

444. William Henry ROBERTS, son of Thomas and Mary Anne Roberts died 2 August 1824 aged 16 months.

446. Edward BRISSENDEN died 27 December 1754 aged 53.

447. Mary Ann ROBERTS wife of Thomas Roberts, late Surgeon RN and for many years in practice at New Romney died 12 December 1845 aged 60. Above Thomas Roberts, died 7 July 1857 aged 75. Children of Thomas Robert and Mary Anne his wife: John Thomas Roberts, William Henry Roberts die 2 August 1824 aged 16 months; Henry Constable Roberts and Mary Anne Roberts.

448. Three coffin shaped tombs with no headstones nor inscriptions.

449. Edward WRAIGHT died 19 April 1790 aged 75. Elizabeth his wife 20 May 1799 aged 68.

450. Henry WRAIGHT died 6 April 1791 aged 48. Left surviving Mary his wife and 10 (?9) children: Mary, George, Henry, Daniel, Francis, Charles, Joseph, Elizabeth and Sarah.

451. Mary wife of Henry WRAIGHT of this parish died 5 September 1806 aged 65.

452. A large altar tomb. The inscription, which is much worn appears to be: Heare lyeth the body / of Robert DRAWDREDGE / desesed who died in / ……………… 1631 and was / buried the (?15th) of May / ……………. (?57) yere of / his age. (Note: this would seem to be the Robert Drawbridge of Ivychurch Yeoman, bachelor, about 40, for whom a marriage Licence was issued 10 July 1623 to marry Elizabeth BROWNE maiden of same parish, about 28, daughter of John Browne of Mersham, cooper. To be married at Mersham by reason that her father dwelleth there and intendeth to give them their wedding dinner" see J M Cowpers, Cant: Mar: Lic. Vol 2 p 298.)

453. Sarah, daughter of John and Hannah KETCHLEE died 30 January 1838 aged 28.

454. Joseph son of John and Hannah KETCHLEE of this parish died 23 March 1817 aged 3.

455. Hannah wife of John KETCHLEE died 6 February 1837 aged 56. Left surviving one son and 2 daughters: John, Hannah and Elizabeth.

456. John KETCHLEE died 2(3?) October 184(?3) aged ?58. Left surviving Mary his second wife.

457. Thomas NEWMAN died 18 March 1838 aged (?5)3. Left surviving by Hannah his wife one daughter: Mary.

458. Joseph SACRE, 33 years Clerk of this parish died 22 August 1859 aged 71. Elizabeth his wife 2 September 1836 aged 47. Also six of their children who died as follows:- Thomas 5 April 1816 aged 2 years 10 months, William 30 April 1822 aged 3 years 3 months, Henry 29 December 1827 aged 6 months, James 11 February 1830 aged 5 years 2 months, George 29 June 1839 aged 17. Mary Ann wife or Richard PALMER died 8 December 1855 aged 39. They left surviving 1 son and 1 daughter: Joseph and Sarah.

459. Ann wife of Joseph STANLY died January ye 8 1734 aged 29 and left issue one daughter: Elizabeth. (Other half of stone blank).

460. (By east window) A cross in rails to the Reverend Richard Worew HANDCOCK 27 March 1879.

461. Ruth wife of William BATES died 23 November 1828 aged 33. "Dear friends and children do not weep etc")

462. William BATES died 21 December 1852 aged 80. Left issue by Ruth his wife 3 sons and 4 daughters: Samuel, John, Ruth, Isaac, Judith, Emma and Maria-Jane. Also 55 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Elizabeth his second wife died 29 May 1836 aged 68.

464. (In far eastern corner) Thomas COBB of Moat House, Ivychurch, died 4 September 1884 aged 71. Henry William eldest son of above 12 March 1850 aged 6. Thomas Faulconer, second son of above 22 August 1883 in Wellington, New Zealand aged 35. Mary widow of above died 19 March 1897 in 80th year.

465. (North east part) Ann Dennis wife of Edward FLISHER died 9 October 1865 aged 49. Edward Flisher her husband 18 April 1902 aged 85.

466. Mary Ann FLISHER 27 February 1909 aged 83.

467. Mary Ann PALMER died 3 April 1881 in 32nd year. George her husband 5 April 1881 in 37th year. Also the children of the above: Henry Edward; Ernest George born 20 August 1869 died February 1870; Mary Anna; Albert Lester born 9 November 1871 died 29 March 1872; Edgar; Edward; Louisa Laura.

468. Hannah HARMAN died 26 November 1847 aged 64.

469. James son of Henry and Mary PALMER died 21 January 1831 aged 7 weeks. Also Daniel died an infant 1832.

471. Mary wife of Henry PALMER died 19 March 1866 aged 58. Left surviving 10 children viz: Stephen; Eliza; Henry died 4 February 1838 aged 4 years; Ruth died 13 April 1847 aged 2 years; Mary; Hannah; Benjamin, Sarah; George; Norton died 3 December 1848 aged 2 years; Miriam; Elizabeth Julia Ann; and Kate.

472. Henry PALMER died 3 September 1881 aged 79.

473. Stephen PALMER died 29 September 1893 aged 64, leaving his wife 7 sons and 6 daughters.

474. Lydia Palmer MILLER babe of William R and Mary A Miller of Hythe born 1 April 1898, died 26 April 1898.

475. Ann PALMER wife of Stephen Palmer of Old Romney died 14 February 1916 aged 81.

476. Edward BRIGNALL died 13 April 1831 aged 44. Left surviving Mary his wife and 8 children Mary born 3 December 1812; Eliza born 3 April 1814; Edward born 9 November 1815; James born 8 January 1817; Ann born 17 October 1818; Harriot born 1 April 1820 died 9 June 1838; Caroline born 4 April 1821;John born 16 January 1823 died 28 January 1823; Jane born 21 July 1826.

477. James BRIGNALL of Brookland died 11 December 1878 in 61st year.

478. Eliza wife of James BRIGNALL of this parish died 18 August 1859 aged 33. Also 2 of their children: Susanna died 13 October 1858 aged 6 and Elizabeth Mary 22 June 1859 aged 11.

480. James Edward son of James and Eliza BRIGNALL died 29 May 1866 aged 15.

481. Margaret, widow of Edward BRIGNALL died 23 December 1900 aged 75.

483. Francis William Lambard LEE, last surviving child of Jemima Sankey FIELDER died 28 June 1871 aged 21. Also Jemima Ellen daughter of William and Jemima S Fielder died 2 May 1860 aged 8 months 8 days.

484. Eliza wife of Charles H LEE of this parish and eldest daughter of R P HOUGHAM surgeon, late of Brookland died 10 April 1875 aged 63.

485. Caroline Amelia wife of George VIDLER died 23 October 1887 aged 26.

487. Richard COLLINS of this parish died 7 February 1807 aged 48. Left issue by Catherine his wife one son and one daughter: Mary and William.

488. Sarah daughter of Josh and Mary TOLHURST died 11 January 1797 aged 16 years.

489. Susannah daughter of the late William and Mary MARTIN and wife of Edward Tedding BURROWS of Dover, linendraper. She died sincerely regretted by her husband and friends August 21 1800 aged 33. Issue one daughter: Mary Martin. Also William Martin late of Dover, linendraper, brother of the above died 17 September 1807 aged 25.

490. William MARTIN died 29 October 178(0 or 9) aged 42. Also Mary his wife daughter of ……………….. RUSSELL of Goudhurst, who died 2 March 1789 aged 56. Left 3 children: Susannah, Mary and William.

491. Stephen TOLHURST late of Snargate, Victualler, died 2 April 1833 aged 77. Also Elizabeth his wife 21 April 1782 aged 22. Elizabeth his second wife 27 November 1823 aged 73. Leaving issue one son and 3 daughters: Peter, Lydia, Winny and Priscilla.

492. Catherine wife of Alfred MURRELL died 8 December 1906 aged 66. Alfred Murrell 26 June 1908 aged 59.

493. William Wright HARTLEY, 14 April 1837 aged 31, leaving surviving his widow and one son who erected.

494. Elizabeth wife of George HOBDAY died 18 August 1859 aged 50. Also two children Emma died 24 December 1844 aged 7 months; Sarah died 8 May 1848 aged 3 years. Left surviving one son: John Hartley and 2 daughters: Elizabeth and Maria Hobday.

495. John WOOD died 2 May 1918 aged 51.

496. William Howland HOOK of Fairfield and late of Brenzett died 21 October 1869 aged 84. Also Esther his wife died 2 February 1870 aged 86 Leaving one son and daughter.

In the church
497. In the south aisle, flat stone on which a two line inscription in brass, is now gone.

498. In the chancel a flat stone: In memory of the Reverend Robert NEILD, Master of Arts, Vicar of Blean in this county. He died the 9th of November 1780 aged 69 years.

499. In north aisle a slab with matrix of a two line inscription before the altar step.

500. In north aisle – centre – a flat stone, coffin-shaped – no inscription.

501. On the wooden screen in the tower arch "1686. IG – RB. CW"
