JOHN LOVE the yonger of the parishe of Gowthurst yoman, 19 January 1559 2 Eliz: To be buried in the churchyarde of Gowthurst. Vnto my brother in lawe William Deye and my sister his wyfe 13s. 4d. Vnto my sister Anne Love 10s. To John Materis and John Deye and Wm. Kempe my godchildren 12d, every of them. To Thomas Hordonden as much money as he oweth me. Residue vnto my brother Stephen Love and to be executor. 
All my landes and tenements to my saied brother Stephen Love in consideration therof findinge and bringinge vppe not onelie my sonne John Love convenientlie in lerninge and fyndinge him meate, drinke and other necessaries vntill he shalbe of the full age of fortene yeres and then set him to some honest occupacon but also paie vnto my saied sonne John Love when 24 the some of £20. Witness: Thos. Tayllor of Goudhurst.
