ROBERT LAUNDE, Knight and citizen of London, my unworthy body to be buried "deuant lestall en le quer notre dame Seint Marie de Chartrehous de London". I will a taper before the image "note Dame a Salve" in the church of St. Michael of Wodestrete and another before Our Lady in Saint Pauls called Newerk and another before ‘le Rode’ at the Northdore. A taper before the image of St. Katherine next the Tower. Tapers to the church at ‘Stanyglane’ in the church of Our Lady and the high altar of ‘Seint Fastre and Seint Anne’ next Aldrichgate, St. Peter in Shepe and St. Alban of Wodstrete. To Adam Launde my brother 300 marcs etc. I give to the church of St. Michael of Wodestret to "esloigner le dit eglise per vn Arche xxli". To the Prior and Convent of Charterhous of London To the Abbat and Convent of Lesnes £10 of the debt they owe me to renovate and paint an ymage of Our Lady. I give to each Chanon being priest 20s. and to the prior 26s. 8d. All on condition they say mass and a chanon sings a trental. (Gifts to church of Hempstede in Essex etc etc but no other Kent gifts). (He speaks only of his lands and shops in London in the above parishes which were to go to Christine his wife for her life and afterwards to be sold. Shop in Chepe to Charterhouse). To Abbot and convent of Lesnes, Rochester Diocese, that tenement in which I the said Robert. John Yve and Laurence Wynpole clerk have of the gift and feoffment of Adam Rous ‘surgici’ and Juliana his wife in Wodestret in the parish of St. Alphege within Crepulgate, to them and their successors for ever. Dated 1 February 5 Richard II.
