Alice De Pekham - Will November 1407

I Alice who was wife of Reginald de Pekham of the County of Kent 18 November 1407 at Aldham in the parish of Wrotham "licencia petita ab obtenta ab occupatoribus bonorum meoeum infra Regnum Anglie". To be buried in the churchyard of the parish church of St. George in Wrotham next my husband. 
   I leave to Elizabeth my daughter 100 mrcs to her marriage. To Johan my daughter 100 mrcs [each the others heir]. I leave 100 mrcs to find honest chaplains to celebrate for my soul and the souls of William Wykham Reginald de Pekham late my husband my parents and benefactors in the church of St. Margaret in Sutwerk, Wrotham and Wykham.
   I leave to the fabric of the church of Wrotham and specially for the ‘boterass’ round the church to be repaired 10 marcs. To the high altar to be divided between the rector and vicar 40s. to the house of Nuns of Hegham £4. To each light in the church of Wrotham 3s. 4d. To the fabric of the church of Chevenyng 20s. To the fabric of the church of Eyztham 20s. To the church of St. Michael of Wykham 40s [i.e. East Wickham near Woolwich]. To the fabric of the church of Tychesey 10s. 
   To the poor tenants of Wykham amongst them 20s. To the poor tenants at Burham between them 40s. To each godson in the parish of Wrotham 20s. to Alice my servant 5 mrcs. To be divided between my attendants [famulos meos] who are with me now or were with Reginald my husband deceased 5 mrcs.
   If Elizabeth and Johanna my daughters die before marriage then the 100 mrcs to be divided between poor maidens kinsfolk of Reginald and me to their marriages and if there are none then to the poor and the other 100 mrcs to be divided between Reginald and James my sons when they come to their lawful age.
  To John Dowdale a gilt cup with cover. To John Sunderesshe a gilt cup with cover and two other executors 40s. Residue between my sons. I make John Dowdale, John Sunderesshe, John Hodesole, and Michael ‘famulus’ of the said John Dowdale my executors.
   Order addressed to the Dean of Schorham to grant probate of the wills of Reginald Pekham Esquier and Alice his wife of the parish of Wrotham. Dated Gloucester 26 November 1407, and administration granted accordingly to Sir John Sunderessch rector of Wrotham, Richard Sewer, John Doudale, John Sunderasche and John Hodesole executors with reserved power for Michael ‘famulus’ of the said John Dowdale. Dated at Halling 14 January [1407]. [251a Arundel I]
