WILLIAM HUGHAM, Clerk (Vicar of Northgate City of Canterbury). To be buried in the church of the Priory of St. Gregory. Canterbury. To Sir Thomas Littelwod canon of the same 6s. 8d. To Sir William Bedynden, canon of the same 6s. 8d. to pray for my soul and the soul of Edmund Haute lately deceased and to the same William a bed of the best with tester and curtains of red colour &c, 5 ‘Quyssheyns’, two ‘pilches’ [‘pilche’, a fur garment], one of Beuer and the other of ‘Polou’, a chest called ‘Shipcofre’, 12 silver spoons, a gilt chalice, ‘j par spectacul’, ‘j pixidem pro Triacle’ [Triacle, an antidote to poison] of silver and j ‘secour’. 
To the Prior of Ledys 40s. and to the present subprior 6s. 8d. To my church of Northgate a manual, a processional, two surplices, and a vestment of blue fabric with ‘swannys’ of gold, which vestment to remain to the chaplain celebrating for my soul and after to the church for ever. To the same church a great breviary, so that they have my soul specifically recommended for evermore every Sunday in the pulpit. I leave 5s. for a certain cloth there to serve for the purification of women in the said church.
I leave to Sir William Euerdon, monk of St. Augustine’s Monastery 20s. and remit what he owes me. To Sir William Parys, vicar of Bekysborn five marcs in which Thomas Copyn is indebted to me, to pray for the soul of Edmund Haute aforesaid. I will that the said William may receive 10s. yearly of my lands &c at Asshele. To the same William Parys a gown of ‘blac of lire’ furred. To Sir John Bedill, Rector of Bredman, Canterbury 6s. 8d. To Sir John Wothope, Rector of the church of Mawdelayn, Canterbury 6s. 8d. To the Rector of All Saints Canterbury 6s. 8d. To Sir John Walter, Vicar of Tanyton 6s. 8d. To Sir John Correy vicar of Plumstede a silver girdle of blue colour (blodii coloris). To Sir John Sonne chaplain 6s. 8d. and a little breviary and a cloak (armilausam) of Russet. To Sir John Shayham chaplain of the Almonry of Christ church 6s. 8d., and remit the debt to me and to each of his fellows there in alms 3s. 4d. To Sir Nicholas Clylton Perpetual Vicar of Renham a red bed with Testur of the same ‘sette’ made with Griffins, a book called Pupillus Oculi and another book in which is contained Provincial Constitutions. 
To Sir William Thursted chaplain 6s. 8d. To Sir Henry Fynch, chaplain, 6s. 8d. To Brother Robert Caldane of the Domus Dei Duor 6s. 8d. To Brother John Bron of the order of Preachers in Canterbury 6s. 8d. To the Hospital of St. John of Northgate to pray for me 20s, to the Hospital of Maynardespitell in Canterbury 62. 8d. To James servant of Edmund Haute dwelling in the said hospital 3s. 4d. To Edmund Langle, Esquire of Christ Church Canterbury 13s. 4. a bow called ‘arblast’, a brass morter with its pestell, a long spit of iron and a bason with ever. To John Langle his son 6s. 8d. To John Croche Esquire 6 silver spoons. To James Gelot a gown of ‘musterdevylers’ with fur of Beuer. To Johanna his wife a gown of scarlet furred with ‘le Bies’ and a girdle of silver green color. To Thomas Gelot his son a small psalter. To William Langham 4 marcs in my custody from the legacy of his father and owing to him and 46s. 8d., with my basalard harnessed with silver for his labours for me. To John Halle 6s. 8d. 
To Robert Cheseman my clerk £10, six silver spoons, a bed and a gown, one little baselard harnessed with silver, a sword and gowns necessary to him, which Robert and the goods to be in the governance of Robert Surenden, Sir Nicholas Chilton and Sir Wm. Bedynden and meanwhile to give him all necessaries until he is of full age I leave to John Cocks sometime servant of my Mother, dwelling in Douore, if he is alive 20s. To Laurence Hache 6s. 8d., William Sleg 6s. 8d., John Gy 6s. 8d., John Golet 6s. 8d., Joan his wife 6s. 8d. and a white ‘Forser’. To John Estmere heremite 2s. To Master Adam Body 6s. 8d., and Master David 6s. 8d. 
To each house of friars medicants in Canterbury 20s. I leave six marcs and 10s for distribution among my poor parishioners of Northgate and 10s among my poor parishioners of St. Paul’s Canterbury, for the soul of John Stadfast. I leave a certain sum of money for a man to go a pilgrimage towards St. James for my soul and the soul of my mother. I leave £20 to a chaplain to celebrate in the church of Northgate for my soul and my father and mother &c. 
I wish that all my land lately bought of William Gelot at Lewode be sold and a chaplain to celebrate in the church of St. Mary Douor at the altar there where the body of my mother lies buried, for two years for the souls of my father, mother, brothers and sisters and also for the souls of John Parys and Johane his wife. To the reparation of the chancel of the church of St. Martin of Douor 6s. 8d. My executors to celebrate my anniversary in the church of St. Gregory, Canterbury, for 10 years. Residue to executors for works of charity for my soul. 
Executors: Robert Swynden, Sir Nicholas Chilton clerk, John Gibbis, John Ledis and Estmere Mersh and Sir William Bedynden supervisor with the licence of his Prior. I leave to Edmund Langle Esquire a little cup of Maser bound with silver. To Sir Nicholas Chilton clerk, a ‘subsell’*, a chest called "Shipcofre" and a bow. To Robert Chesman my clerk a cup of Maser bound with silver. I leave 100s. to the church of Northgate to buy a new gradual if my good extend so far.
