17 Sept 1530. John Upton of Westclive (Westcliffe) beside Dovor. To be buried in church of Ryngewold (Ringwould) before the image of or ladye of Pictie beside my mother.
   To the light of the Patrone of the church of Westclive. The light of the holy crosse, the light of our lady and dethes light one ewe. A taper before Image of Saynt John Baptist 3 ewes and before the image of Saynte Roke there 3 ewes. To lights in church of Ryngewold, the Patron light crosse, our lady.
   Goods 1 part to masses, 1 part to my wife, 1 part to my son Robert Upton he to be kind to his mother and frendely to his brethren. 4th part to fynding and living of his brother Harry Upton, 5th part to his brother John Upton.
   Exors Felice my wife and my said son Robert Upton and Thos Neme.
   Robert Weldon supervisor.
   My feoffees Wm Forstall, Robert Martyn and my son Robert Upton.
   Tenement at Westclive to Felice my wife and to remain to John Upton my son and to Robert Upton my son.
   Lands at Ryngwold and Walmer to fynding my son Harry Upton at discretion of my wiff his mother. His brother Robert Upton, John Marshe and David Forstall of Estlangdon, Richard Philpot and Richard ?Pamit the yonger of Ryngewold.
   Lands in St Margarets to remain to my son John Upton.
   Witness Sir John Hunter chapellayn curate of Westclive. Robert Martyn of Ryngewold, Thomas Rychard and John Peggesworthe.
   Probate 24 October 1530.
