George Upton of the City of Canterbury, gentleman. To be
buried in the church of Saint Alphage, Canterbury, near the gtraves of
my late deceased father and mother as ?may be.
To Honora BOTTING who now lives with me £30 yearly out of
lands in Boughton under the Blean, Faversham, Herneill, Sheldwich,
Fordwich, Sturry, Westbeer, Hastingleigh, Wye, Lidden and Ewell in Kent.
To Frances REMPAND my servant £10 yearly. To Anne, wife of
John REDFERN of Fordwich, husbandman £5 yerely. To Martha, daughter of
my late cousin Elizabeth FLARELL deceased £5 yerely.
After the death of my kinsmen Heneage NORTON of London,
gent, Anthony JENNINGS KEELDER of Fordwich, coal merchant and Thomas
JENNINGS the elder of the same, coal merchant, I bequeath to Thomas
JENNINGS the younger (one of the sons of Thomas JENNINGS the elder) £20
yerely. John JEKIN of Canterbury, gent, trustee.
To remain to Upton JENNINGs, 1st son of said Anthony
JENNINGS the younger by Martha his wife.
To Elizabeth FAIRWAY, Dulcbella GINDER, Susan UNDERDOWN,
Margaret WILSDEN, Marella GIBBS and Anne JENNINGS (daughters of said
Thomas JENNINGS the elder) and to Thomas HAARTRUP and Elizabeth HARTRUP
(son and daughter of the same Anne REDFERN) and to Thomas NORWOOD (son
of Elizabeth NORWOOD) £100 each.
Dated 9 September 1755. In presence of William BENNETT,
George PLOMER, William LEGRAND.
Proved 9 October 1755 by George HAMMOND, executor.
