2 August 1508. Thomas Upton of Godmersham, to
be buried in cemetery of St Laurence of Godmersham in north part, near
new cross.
To Marjerie LANNERFELDE 6/8. To Thomas FROGNALE my filiolo
one sheep. To Nicholine my servant 6/8.
To Agnes my wife all my bullocks, and to be executrix, and
with Stephen UPTON my lands in Godmersham and Challok (Challock). To
Agnes my wife if she marry then to Stephen Upton.
My lands in Molasshe (Molash), Badallesmere (Badlesmere)
and Sheldwich as being granted to Agnes my wife for terme of her lyfe by
dede indented. After her decease remayne to Stephen Upton, his heirs and
my tenement called Kingssland, which William TAYLOR and John HAYWARDE
have in ? to Agnes to pay with my detts, and to remayne to Nicholas
Upton, his heirs and assigns for ever.
n My lands in Waltham, Elmestede (Elmsted), Smerden (Smarden)
and Westwell to remayne to John Upton, his heirs and assigns.
Margaret Upton, wife of the said John Upton to have the
lands in Smerden and Westwell for her lyfe.
4 acres in Seasalter and Harnhill to the said Stephen
Upton.
Routeling ? in Thruley (Throwley) to John TERRY.
Obit in Godmersham and Sheldwich for my soule, Agnes my
wife, our children souls and for the soule of Thomas a THORNE and
Margery his wife.
3 acres in the parish of Charteham (Chartham) at Mexto to
John TYLEBOROUGH in fee. He to pay 13/4 to ? of the sonnes of William
TOMLYN and to the daughter of the said William Tomlyn.
My house in the towne of Wye to Agnes my wife in fee and to
have timber out of my tenement called Shepeherst in Sheldwich.
Witness: Syr Mathew SMYTH, Vicar of Godmersham, Thomas
SAUNDER and John TERRY.
