William Hubberd of
the parish of Rolvynden, clotheman, 18 Feb. 1516. To be buried in the
churchyerde of our blessyd lady of Rolvynden. My quyte rent in the
parish of Benenden to be sold & to by a grayle for the use of the
parish church of Rolvynden.
To every of my doughters Margarett, Elynor & Denys £10 to their
mariages. To Wenifride my doughter 20 marks. To Elisabeth Austen my
doughter 2 of my best kyne & the kepyng of my sone Gerves unto he
shall attayne the fulle age of 14 yerys and it shabe thought soo long
profitable for the said Garves to contenew schole in Rolvynden be my
overseer and executor and the said Gerves to contynew in the meene tyme
and season to redyng, song, writing and grammar. To John my son 13s 4d.
My executors Thomas my sonne, William Day & Stephyn Patenden. Sr
Richard Walker, vicar, overseer. My enfeoffes Stephen Turner and Richard
Padyam.
My lands in Rolvynden, Wittersham & Benenden for the use of my
children as Thomas, Water and Gerves. The mesuage I bought of John
Robynson, the land I bought of Richd Raynold & land I bought of
Henry Hycke. My feoffes shall make a state to Water my sone of my
messuage at the Hayne I bought of Henry Ewen with a pece of land named
Mallfeld, land beside Wm Bayle, 2 akars land I bought of Thomas Cryowr
and wodland I bought of Thomas Netter and Richard Lye of 8 acres. (Usual
long arrangement if any or all die).
Witness: Sr Richard Walker, vicar, Willyam Frensham junior, John Hubberd,
Symond Day, John Austen junior.
