John Fermor or Godfrey 1 July 1510. To the Mass of Jesus 3s 4d and to the Image of Jesus 20d. To the Brotherhoods of Our Lady, St John & All Hallows for seven years as much money as a brother payeth every year & to every Brotherhood a penny more.
   Thomas Godfrey my son my second best feather bed, 4 pairs of sheets, brazen spit 9 pieces of pewter of every sort 3 pieces, the pan bought of Henxell’s widow, the second spit, a carven chest, 3 kine, 3 budds, 12 fowls the second wayne with the apparel, 2 oxen, 2 mares at my wife’s deliverance, a plough without the cul???? or share, also a harrow with the appurtenances, 3 seams of barley, a seam (ie 8 bushels) of wheat & of oats, half a seam of benys, fulfilling this condition viz that he suffer Alice my wife peaceably to occupy and enjoy, or her assigns, the messuage where I dwelle with 7 acres of land for 14 years in which Thomas hath right in the half part after my decease by law.
   Alice Typpe my daughter 2 kine, 2 steers, 2 budds, and a mare called Coll the younger. Joan my daughter 2 kine, a budd or hog 20s & 4 platters.
   To John & Thomas the sons of Thomas Fermor each one haffer budde; also Alice, Joan, Margery and Margaret the daughters of the said Thomas Fermor each a bearing sheep. Thomas Wybord a cow called Sterre & her calf. Joan wife of Thos Baker one ewe & to every son of John Wybord a lamb. To Wm Fertherell 2 calves. Son Thomas 2 silver spoons.
   Residue after paying debts etc to my wife. Executors: wife Alice & Symon Typpe with John Stokham overseer. Wife Alice have the messuage where I live with 44 acres of land for 14 years but if she die within that time then to son Thomas & his heirs paying to Agnes my daughter 20 marcs (£13.6.8) but if Agnes be dead the money to the Church of Lydd.
   Son Thomas the profit of 14 acres of land called Sandforth 10 acres lying in Eastfelde & Southmede, 3½ acres named Congstrete, 11 acres called Whitontre 2½ acres at Halle, 2 acres called Paynys, under the condition aforesaid, but if Thomas die before he is 21 then half to remain to Alice, Joan & Agnes my daughters & their heirs, & the other half to Alice my wife for the term of 14 years then to my daughters, but if they all die within the term of 14 years, then wife Alice to have the same for life, afterwards to be sold & the money disposed by my executors in the church & repair of bad roads in the parish.
   Daughter Alice my tenement at Dynsmarsh & 9 acres and a half and to her heirs but if none to son Thomas or if he be dead to Joan & Agnes my daughters.
   Wife Alice to have the house in Lydd in which John Hamond dwells for her life then to son Thomas & his heirs. Two acres of land at Belgare to be sold & the money to Alice my wife & with money of her own to keep my years mind for seven years after, 20s the first year & 13s 4d every year after. Also son Thomas to pay to my years mind 13s 4d yearly to the sum of 26s 8d. Witnesses: John Fyssher, priest, John Bate, jurat, Symon Watts.
