Thomas Bate senior 19 Oct. 1485. To the
Brotherhood of St John Baptist 12d. Wife Margaret all my household things
& son John one large brass pot after the death of his mother. Wife to
have 2 cows & 7 sheep with the increase of this year. Executors wife
Margaret & son John. Wife to have for life my chief house with kitchen
& garden, 18 acres of land situated near the land of John Sweting
senior & another house which Laurence Hamond now holds to farm, after
her death to son John & his heirs. Son John remainder of my lands
tenements & rents paying 20s/- yearly to his mother.
