John Adam, butcher 24 March 1497. The Brotherhood of St Mary have every year for ten years after my death 12d; the Brotherhood of Holy Trinity yearly for 8 years 8d; the Brotherhood of St Katherine yearly for 6 years 8d & the Mass of Jesus for 10 years 2s; yearly if the Mass be celebrated there then or else for my soul. A priest to celebrate for my soul for one year in the church & have 11 marcs (£7.6.8).
   Son William to have 20 marcs (£13.6.8) whereof my executors shall deliver on the day of my trental £6.13.4 & on my anniversary £6.13.4. Son John £10 when 20 years of age. To the reparation of the painting of St Mary in the Chapel of St Mary 5 marcs (66-8d). Agnes wife of Henry Inglott 20s; John son of James Bate 20s; Nicholas son of James Bate 20s; Joan dau: of James Bate 20s; Margaret wife of John Nicholl 20s & Julian dau: of the same John Nicoll 20s. To Magister Thomas Sewell parish priest 4d. Wife Ideve all my household goods & £20. Executors John Bate junior & to have 40s.
