STEPHYN CHIRCHE, citezein and Stokfisshmonger of London, 8 May 1484 (1 Richard III). To be buried in the cloister of the parish church of Saint Magnes nygh the bridge of London. To the fraternite of Salue Regina and Saint Thomas ye Martir in the same church founded 20d. To the wardeyns of the Almes in the said church 12d. To Johan Chirch my modir 40s. To John Miller my brother in lawe my violett gowne lyned and Edith his wif my suster my lest maser. To John Benett of Strodewater in Countie of Gloucester 10s.
I will my executors ordeyn and fynde an honest preest to syng and pray for my soule and the soules of my benefactors and all xpen soules in the parish church of Stapleherst in Kent by the space of an hoole yere and to have for his salarye 10 marc.
I biqueth toward the reparacion and amending of high wayes aboute Stapleherst as moost nede is 10s. To the werks of the Bridge of Rochester 10s.
Residue to Johan my wife which Johan and Robert Bartelott citezen and Stokfisshmonger of London I make my executors. Ouerseer Thomas Broke citezen and Stokfisshmonger.
Last will 8th May 1484, of my landes, tenementes, rents and services, wods, medowes, leses, and pastures wt all thappurtenaunces in the parish of Stapleherst in Kent. I will that Edithe my suster the wif of John Miller of Chart byside Sutton Valence, draper, have all my landes and tenement called Dukkisherst wt appurtenaunces in Stapleherst and for default of heirs to my right heres yelding therefor yerely to John Chirch and Johan Chirch my fadir and modir during their lyfes also such money and after tenor of a pair of dedis indented bytwene me and my said fadir maade.
I will Johan my wif have all that my place and landes called Roberds and also all my landes called the Harp and the Brokys in the parissh aforesaid also to the siad Johan my wife yerely of my tenements of my landes called Dukkusherst 26s. 8d., unto the sum of £12 be fully paid.
I will my Fadir and Moder have all that my tenement at Stapleherst hill wt thappertenaunces during their lifes and aftir their decesse I will that Robert Bartelott citezen and stokfishr. of London have the same and to his heires.
I will my executors maake sale of my mede called Lurchers mede and the money comyng I geve to the church werks of Stapleherst.
