RICHARD STOONE  ‘capellanus’, Rector of the parish church of Bedynden [Biddenden], Archdeaconry of Cherryng [Charing], Canterbury Diocese, 13 May 1458. To be buried in the churchyard of the parish church of Saints Peter & Paul of Marleborough, Sarum diocese if the Lord will that I depart out of this world there.
To six priests at my funeral 8d. To Isabelle Stoone my mother, of Bradford in Sarum diocese two cups of silver called Stondingcuppes, six spoones of silver and one cup called a Maser with a napkin of la diaperwerk.
To Stephen Stoone my brother a bed with all apparrell and my grey amice.
To Sir. Richard my chaplain at Bedinden a gown of medely and my ‘portoforium’.
To Stephen Rogere 40s. To the house [?of] Lewes 18s. a debt. To Stephen Adam 20s.
Residue to Robert Wilcokke, Stephen
Roger and Stephen Adam, executors to dispose of residue to the work, utility and fabric of the church of Bedinden.
Witnesses: John Tofford, chaplain of the parish church of Saints Peter & Paul aforesaid and John Michel of the same. [Latin]
Proved at Mortlake 23 May the year above said. (P.C.C. 13 Stockton)
