HENRY PATENDEN of Gowdeherst [Goudhurst], clothier, 21 July 1549 (3 Edward VI).
To be buried in the churchyarde. To the poure mens boxe £4. Vnto Henry Patenden my sonne fourscore pounds at 21 yeres. To Anne my doughter £40 at her mariage. Vnto Joane my doughter £40 at her mariage. Vnto Katheryn Mapisden my wifs doughter £26. 13. 4. at hir mariage.
To George Mapisden my wifs sonne £10. Top Edward Mapisden my wifs sonne £10 at their ages of 21 yeres. To my susters Alice and [blank] £3. 6. 8. at their mariages.
To Dorathe my wife £200 which Robert Whitfelde owith me. To Thomas Pattenden my father £5. To my mother £3. 6. 8. To John Pattenden my brother £5. To Dorathe my wife all my woodes and Tymber in the counties of Surrey and Sussex.
Residue to Dorathe my wife my sole executrice. Peter Mapisden my overseer. Witness: John Mone curate, Robert Colyer, Thomas Patenden thelder, John Stone.
