ROBERT BIFELD citizen and Iremonger of the Citie of London, 22 Janyver the yeer of our lorde aftre the cours and contynn of English Church 1481, 21 Edward IV. To be buried in the church yerde of the parish church of Saint Dunstone in the Este where I am parisshen on the south parte of the same church where I entende that a chapell in the honnor of God our ladie and of Saint John the Baptist and Saint John the Evangelist of my godes shalbe edified.
Torches to parish church of Stebenhithe in Middlesex and 2 to parish church of Chalke in Kent and one to church of Denten in the same countie. To reparacon of the steple of Saint Dunstone 10 marc. To parish church of Cayham in Leycester a vestyment and my lande in Cayham to be disposid to the same church.
I pardon and release to Elizabeth my suster wif of Clarynseux 5 marcs. Johanne my wif.
William Bifeld my sonne £300. Robert my sonen £300. Anne my daughter. Johanne my daughter wife of William Welbek £20 and my prymer &e.
Furthermor I woll my tenement in Mynchynlane in parish of Saint Dunston and all that wode called Lakhoth in the parish of Apuldore in Kent to William Bifeld my sonne and my lands in Este Chalk and West Chalk in Kent.
£200 [of asum of £315. 6. 8. to newe make and edifie a chapell annexed and to be sette to and in the south parte of the parish church of Saint Dunston in the chirchyerde their callid the pardone churchyerde which chapell shall conteign in length bitwen este and west 30 fote or 2 fote more or ells 2 fote lesse and in brede between North and South 16 fote or oon fote more or lesse of assise and of such height as the masons making the saide chapell it shall find convenient, taking down as moch of the vtter walle in the South parte of the saide churche both in length and height as shall convenient accorde wt the lengthe and height of the saide chapell so of newe to be made. Which chapell so made shalbe dedicated and hallowed in the honor of God, his blessid Moder, of Seint John Baptist and Saint John the Evangelist. Also that myn executors make and sett wt in the saide chapell pewes and sittyngs convenient and necessary after their discrecion for my wif, children and servants and myn heires and assigns inhabitants of the place which I dwell in sette in Watir Lane in the parish abovesaid (Rest of money for a preist &e. &e).
