WILLIAM SAYER of Detling 3 November 1514. To be buried in ower Ladie chapell in the parishe of Detling. Three tapers eche of them three quarters a pece to brenne afore the Roode afore ower lady and another before Seint Jamys as long as my benfates is able to mayntayne them. Also to the Roode a towell of playne. I will my executors shall pave ower Ladies chauncell with pavint tyle as shortely as they canne.
To Thornam churche a browne cowe to mayntayne our Ladie light there. A red cowe to reparacions of ower ladie chapell in Detling. To euery one of my godchildren 4d. To William Sayer my best brasse pott, and Robert Sayer the seconde pott. To Agnes Sayer my best panne. To Joane Sayer my best Ketell and a trevet. To Emmot Sayer two platers, Thomas Sayer two pewter disshes and a plater, Alys Sayer the same. To Alys Valantyne 6s. 8d. which is in her faders handes. To the mendyng of boly lan [?Boly Lane] 6s. 8d. An obyte in churche of Detling 20 yere, 13s. 4d. a yere. A prest to sing for my soule, my wyves soule and all xpen soules 46s. 8d. To fowle wayes at Cannon barnnose 20s. To a hole in bolylane 6s. 8d. in the handes of Folantyne Benden. To Thornam churche 20d. Residue to the churche of Detling.
Executors: Edmonde Sayer my son, Edmond Colet and Edmond Polhill.
Wytnes: Sr. William Masse and Sir William Spynk with moo. To the reparacon of the Steple of Detlyng 5 marks. I will Edmonde my sonne shalhave my tenement and garden with 6 acres of lande that late was Maister Heddes for euermore. Also I solde to Edmonde Sayer a howse with an garden called Hortons and 8 acres of lande the which house is bounde to an obyte 20 yere, at 13s. 4d. a yere and 5 marks to a prest and to fowle wayes as it apperyth in the testament.
