HENRY LAUNSON, First day of
Marche 1510, of Maidestone [Maidstone]. To be buried in churchyerde of
Saint Feithes in Maidestone. To reparation of the churche 20s.
To John Hylls my ladde half of my shipp [ship] called the Thomas. To
Joane my wif the other half terme of her lif and after her decesse I
wyll the said John Hylles shall have the saide shipp hooly to hymself.
To Joane my wif half of my shipp [ship] called the Fortune, so that she
shall paye therfore tot he reparacon of the churche of Saint Faythe.
40s. At my burying to poore people an hoggeshe of Redd wyne and another
of clarett wyne and a quarter of whete in breade and half a wey of chese.
To Joane my wif all my instuff and after her decesse I wyll that John
Hylles shall have my saide instuff.
Residue to Joane my wif and the same Joane and John Redmen executors and
John Peerson of Maideston ouerseer.
Last will: I wyll that John Hyllys my Ladde have my mesuage and garden
in Wykestrete I bought of Nychas Godfrey. In default of issue to be sold
to reparacon of church of Saint Faythes. To Joane my wif my mesuage sett
and beying on Saint Faythes playne for terme of her lif and then to be
solde, oon half to reparacion of Saint Faythes and other half to poore
people. Also to Joane my wif my mesuage and garden in Wykestrete late
Ryppleys and my mesuage and wharf lying at Hythe in parish of Maideston.
Witness: John Lee, gent., John Philipp, sherman and --------- Brown the
perdoner. I bequeth a carr and 2 lyghters to Joane my wif. To our Lady
of the high aulter of the churche of Maydeston 10s.
Wittenes: Maister Wyllyam Grosyn, Maister of the College of Maydeston,
Sir Thomas Hanson parishe preest of the same.
