THOMAS DENLEY, 10th October 1493. To be buried in the church of All Saints of Maideston [Maidstone] before the Jesus altar where the parish priest (presbyter) sprinkles holy water. To the Master of the College if he shall be at my burial 12d., and to each priest 6d., each clerk 4d. and each chorister 2d., and to each ‘Torcheberer’ 2d.
I leave to Ethildrede my daughter 40 marks to her marriage and the residue to Anne my wife whom with William Fissher I will be my executors.
Last will: Anna my wife shall have all my lands, tenements &e and William my son shall have them after her death. In default then to Ethedreda my daughter and if she die then my feoffees to make other feoffees to the intent that they shall pay annually to a priest celebrating Jesus Mass 8 marks
for ever. (Latin)
