3 April 1543. Thomas Shawe clerk parson of Trottisclyf (Trottiscliffe)  in Kent. To be buryed where it shall please Almighty God. 
   To the mendyng of the highe waye bitwixt Clevettwell and the churche of Trottisclyf 20s.
   To every of my godchildern borne and christened within the parishe churche of Trottisclyf 20d a pece.
   To Robert Snowdon and Joane his wife 6/8. James Smyth 4s. Wm Ryve a kowe and a calfe, a fethbedde and a matres. John Broke and his wife 12d. John Cowper and his wife 12d. Margaret Byrde 6d. Margaret Byrde 6d. (sic). Thomas More 6d. To olde Philip 12d. To every childe of Robert Broks, Edmunde Woddes, John Goddens and Thos Coupers that goith to scole 4d. apece.
   To the parishe churche of Ravynstone dale in Westmerlande towards the beying of a cope 40s.
   To Anne Broke 10s. To Sir Henry Johnson vicar of Hallyng 6/8. Sir Robt Downes chauntre priest of Horton 5s. John Cryppe of Alhalowes 10s.
   To the parishe churche of Trollischefe (sic) aforsaid twoo portesis.
   Residue to George Shawe my brother and John Shawe my nevewe for this purpose that they shall honestly idspoase my goodes and bring up my nevewe Robert Shawe and my niece Ellyn Shawe.
   I make George Shawe and John Shawe executours and Henry Bowssell supervisour and for his paynes to be taken herein 26/8 to bey him a blak gown.
   To Robert Broke a cupborde.
   These beryng witnesse Henry Bowssell, Robert Broke gentilman, James Snawdon, John Shawe and Thos Robenson with other moo.
   Prob. 6 July 1543 by Geo. Shawe one of the exors. Res. ptaten John Shawe cum venerit.
