22 Jan. 1602 (45 Elizabeth). I Susan Knatchbull of the parishe of Saincte Andrewe in Holborne, widowe I do give and bequeath my soule into the handes of Almightie God the most holie and blessed and glorious Trinitie verilye hopinge and trustinge and allso humblie beseeching that by the merittes deathe and passion of my sweete Lorde and Savyoure Jesus Christe and the sheddinge of his moste precious bloud I may obteyne remission and forgievnes of all my synnes and to be made partaker of his heavenlie Kingdome For the obteyning whereof I do most humblie beseeche the blessed Virgin Mary mother of or saviour Jesus Christe and all the holie Coompany of heaven to praie to his Almightie Matie for me. Item: I will my bodye to be buryed in Xtean buryall in suche decent order as shall seeme good unto my executor.
   Item: whereas my sonne Norton Knatchbull is indebted unto me in the somme of one hundred and fortie poundes I do freelie fogive hym three score poundes of the saied debt. Unto my sonne Thos Knatchbull £40 within 1 year.
   To my sonne George Knatchbull £20 within 3 years. To my daughter Cleybrooke £10 within one yerre. To my sister Clerke, to my brother Brente and my sister. To my sister Greene. To Briget Knatchbull my daughter in law. To Ellinor Knatchbull my daughter in lawe. To my cosin Typper and to his wife. To my cosen Raphe Clerke and to his wife. To my cosen John Clarke and to his wife. To Mr Cooke dwelling in Southampton Rents in Holborne and to his wife. To Mr Richard Carye of the same place. To Mr Thatcher of the same place. And to my cosin Mrs Grace Finche and to eache and every of them a Ringe of gould of the valewe of thirtie shillings onlie as a remembrance of my love to every one of them. 
   To Susan Knatchbull my grandchilde and my goddaughter. And to Susan Sheppard my graundchilde and goddaughter and to eache of them a cuppe of silver of the valewe of three poundes six shillings eighte pence. I geve to all the rest of my sonne Thomas Knatchbull children and to all my daughter Cleybrookes children and to my graundchilde Briget Sheppard and to eache and every of them a Trencher salte of silver of the valewe of 26/8 with my name engraven uppon every one of them. To Elizabeth Nayler and Johane Songar my olde servants and to eache of them 20s.
   Residue of my goods and chattells etc. to my sonne Norton Knatchbull whome I make and ordeyne the sole executor of this my last will, Beseeching and praying hym for oure Sweete Savyour Jesus Christe his sake that he will bestowe his paynes and his care for the true performance of this my will according to my Intent and meaninge. And soe Sweete Jesus my Savyoure have mercie uppon my soule Amen. Susan Knatchbull sealed signed and declared in the presence of Thomas Knighte, Thomas Smithe.
   Probate apud London 17 July 1610 by oath Dni Norton Knatchbull militis filii nralis dicte defuncte et executoris.
