37. Bodfeld.

14 Sept 1525. I John Marten, to be buried in the churche yarde of Saint Botulphe in Thamyse Strete nygh Byllingesgate of London. I geve and bequeth to my principall [sic] my best garment. To the high awter of Aylisford for my tithes etc. 2s. My exour cause oon trentall of mases to be songe or saide within the said parishe churche of Aylesford and oon half trentall within the parishe churche of Saint Botulphe.
   To John Stretton my godsonne 4d.
   I will myn extour cause ij masses to be songe for my soule and all Xten soules at the Rode of Grace in the Countie of Kent and amonge pour people there to pray for my soule xijd.
   To John Medill my servunt to pray for my soule 6/8 over and above the wages that I doo owe him.
   Residue unto William Martyn my sonne and I make John Johnson my sool extour and overseer Richard Thorneton of Aylisford.
   Witness. Sir Wm Branth- awyte curate of the parishe churche of Saint Botulphe, Wm Marten, John Medill.
   Probate 26 Sept 1525 by John Johnson exor.
