The first part of this Will is written in Latin

6 Jan 1501. Johannes Patynden of Horsmonden.
Names and places mentioned include:
Parish of St Margaret.
   Alicie Mengge, wife, Gift to Henrici Menge 3/4. Nichi Stowe of Lamberherst 20d. Johanni Key, Johanni Menge, Johanni Baldok, Magri Johannen Lynley, rector.
   This is all my londs etc. in the parisshes of Horsmonden, Lambherst and Wadeherst. I will my feoffees forthwith my executours shall selle all my tenements and londs in Lamberherst and Wadeherst except certeyn londes called the Hale and the money to be devided in fulfilling my testamenet and last will and the residue to Henry Patynden my brother.
   My extours shall resceive alle the issues etc. of alle my tenements and landes before except alle the nonage of Robt my sonne in exhibicon and fyndydng of the said Robt, Joys and Johane his susters and when Robt comyth to the age of 21 yeres
   I will my feoffees shall deliver a sufficient astate to the said Robt my sonne in fee simple – the said Robt paying to everyiche of his susters and they be maryed at the age of 24 yerie £10. If he decesse to remayne to his ij susters Joies and Johanne and if alle deceasse thenne to remayne to my next heiris.
   My extours shall selle alle the woodes growing and being uppon the said londs called the Hale in contentacon of this my last will.
   I will Alice Menge myn aunt shalhave my best bedys to be in hir gydauns unto the tyme the said Joys my doughter comyth to the age of 15 yeris and thenne the said Joys to have them delyvyd by the said Alice Menge and if she decesse thenne the sayde bedys to remayne to the saide Alice Menge to hir owen proper use.
   Probate 27 Apr 1502 by John Key, John Menge and John Baldok and com. to Henrico Patynden p uian intestat eo qd. exor refutarunit.
