4 Septembre 1499. William Catelyn of West Malling. To be buryed in the body of the church of the monastery of Malling called the ?Nosse that is to say at the South ende of the awter byfore the ymage of oure Lady of Petie yf my lady the Abbes will licens it so to be. And if it be so that my seid body thabbes will nott licens my body to be buried ther or ells that it please God that I decesse not at Malling nor nere abouyte it Thene I remytte the burying of my body to soche a conveynent place as shalbe thought by Elizabeth my wif. I bequeth to the high awter of the monastery of Malling for my tithes necligently forgoten or slowthed 6/8. And to my lady abbes for breking of the grounde iff my body be buried ther 6/8.
   And for as moche as I have long season had a grete parte of my livying and ben gretly holpe by the lyveleide of Elizabeth my wif and for the grete love and confidence betwene my seid wif and me I holly geve bequeith and commyte unto the seid Elizabeth all the Residue of my goodes cornes and catallis to ordre and distribute to hirselfe and amonge oure children as she semeth beste and also to pay withall all suche detts as ar expressed in my boke covered with a yelow coveryng for in the booke ur expressed all that be my detts that I canne rememebr me of.
   The which Elizabeth my wif I make and ordayne my sole executrice to do for me and for oure children as she thinkith best to please God and as she wolde I shuld do for her if the case requyred like.
   These witnesse Maistr Thos Nevell, Vicar of Malling, Sr Thos Millis, parson of Leyborne. By me Willm Catelyn written with my owne hand.
