11 Feb 1491. William Clerke cetezen and bruar
of London. To be buried in the chapell of our lady within the churche of
Saint Benett nygh powles warffe. I wull vj torches and 4 tapers and
every man that bereth or holdeth one 4d. To every prest present at my
dirige and masse 4d. To the parissh clerke of Alford in the Countie of
Lincoln 6/8 that the pisshyners there pray for the soules of my fadre my
modre and me. To the parish churche of Gaynesbrough 6/8 in like forme.
I wull Agnes Crane have mete and drinke and cloth during
the lif of my wif. I wull my wif during her lif have my gardyne on that
other sid of the Tamyse and after her decesse I wull that John Hert have
it and kepe yerly an anniversary for my soule in the churche of Saint
Bennett and for the soules of my wif my fadre and modor and for the
soules of Thomas John Alice and Williham and I wull after the deth of
the said John Hert the gardeyne remayne for ?ever to the wardennes of
the churche of Saint Benett and that they kepe yerely myne anniversarie
and that ?every of the wardennes have for his labor 4d.
I will after my deth my tenement yn the pissh of Bukkingham
in Kent remayne to my wife during her lif and if she have nede in her
age then I will that she shall sell my saide tenement and therewith live
and if she have no nede than the said tenement remayne to the repation
of London Bridge.
Residue to Johanne my wif and Exice and John Hert ?supvisor.
These witnessing Sir John Syngelton, Thos. Rede and Nicholas Radiche.
Probate not filled in Previous will 20 Nov 1490 next. 7
April 1492.
