A skeleton with decorated Simian wi~ dug up at the \tanor Farm ~-rr~nt works, 1895. A little later sn the ~arrr ~car three bun~ in ciii. cut out of the chalk, ~ ti. to in. ~ ~ ft. 8 in. below thr ~urt&~. wtrc obacrved between the south wail ~ the con~ict pri**r and the F~r Radwa~r. I ~ mtaaured roughly ~ ft. by 3* ft. and lay with their hc~d’~ to ~- ~ north.c~i, ~ south~west respectively. With the first wa.~ saul! bm~’n urn and bLk patera, with the second two iron flA~ at the feet and with the third a itt brown urn. Twelve coins (a dcnarH’ of Ctaudius TI. a ~mi!l brass of Caausaus, a second brass ~t Constantine II, and three small br;~ 01
Constantine family and six illegible) found in a t~cld west nt the pnson a~ probably belonged to thas ~cnccry and suggest that it was ot a Liter date the Boky Hill one. An urn had been ploughed up here in *;~6 ~ mq be pan of the turniture of a grave.’
(3) Two cemctcncs, one a very large ‘ne, have been fiund on the opposite bank of the river at ~‘trn~-s~t Pottery from the latter, pmerved in the
Rochester and Maidstonc Museums, date. 1mm c. jo-iuo ~.o and later. and indudes Simian form *8 stamped cirvn. ‘t and form ~ i c ~ ~• ee below, Topographical Index, p. *6g.)

4. DAaTrow
Although the evidence for Roman occupation here i~ vague ant uflut~*factory, there is sufficient to indicvr a small Roman ~cttkmcnt in the ~iinhty of the Wading Street. Structural remain’ have been recorded on three or tour sates
(i) A • strong pavement ct plain red tc’ser-ac • noted to hare been found’ under the corner shop nearest 10 the pump ~! the rntranic to Lo~eld Street.
