Grant of term for raising portions. 27 March 1716/17 (3 George I)  

Parties – Anthony Hammond of Nonington, Kent, gentleman (1), William Hammond of Nonington, Esquire (2) and John Cason junior of Woodnesborow alias Winsborow, Kent, gentleman and Isaac Bargrave of Estry, gentleman (3).

In consideration of said William Hammond assigning to Anthony Hammond the reversion of the messuage, ffarme, malthouse, etc. and the several pieces of land thereunto belonging situate in Easole Street in Nonington after decease of said William Hammond and also of said William Hammond assuring to him all the household stuff and furniture of the mansion called St Albans after decease of said William Hamond which assurance said Anthony Hammond hereby acknowledges to be executed and of 10s paid by parties of third part the said Anthony Hammond bargained and sold, demised, etc. to said John Cason and Isaac Bargrave.

Parcels – The Mannor of St Albans with its rights, members, etc. situate in the parish of Nonington aforesaid.

Habendum – To Cason and Bargrave for 500 years from decease or surrender of said William Hammond on trust that in case Elizabeth Hammond and Anne Hammond, daughters of the said William Hammond should be living or any of their issue at the commencement of the said terme that the said Cason and Bargrave out of profitts of said Manor or by sale or demise thereof levy and raise £1,600 for the portions of the said Elizabeth Hammond and Anne Hammond equally to be divided provided they marry with the consent of said William Hammond if then living to be paid at age of 21 or earlier marriage and meantime for their maintenance and education.
