Founded in 1857, the Kent Archaeological Society has following objectives:

To promote the study and publication of archaeology and history in all their branches, especially within the ancient County of Kent.

The Society’s interests are not confined to fieldwork. Its objectives cover archaeology and local history in the widest sense. They include historic buildings, genealogy, industrial archaeology and local history.

Regional Furniture Society - Research in Progress Event

This year’s Research in Progress event continues the RFS successful series of themed events with furniture and history of art speakers reporting on their latest research and discoveries.

Following the themed 2018 and 2019 Research in Progress events, on Sixteenth Century Furniture and The Regional Chair, the 2020 event will also be themed. The papers will report on the latest research and will draw on both furniture history and history of art approaches.
