Toke's and others, Heraldic Ledger Stones in Kent churches

Elizabeth GILLOW  1770  St Nicholas at Wade

The medallion measures 24½inch x 20¼inch and is cut on a blue ledger stone 92inch x 45inch in the Chancel.

Arms: [Gu] a lion ramp [or] on a chief [of the last] three fleurs de lis [of the first]. Crest: a demi lion rampant.

In Memory of Elizabeth, the daughter of Thomas & Ann GILLOW of this Parish, who died on the 30th of May 1770 aged 1year & 3 months. Also of Mercy, their daughter who died on the 6th of September 1772 Aged 15 years. And also of Sarah their daughter who died on the 8th of November 1773 Aged 11 years. Also the above-named Thomas Gillow who died June 26th 1797 aged 69 years. Also Ann his wife who died Jan 9th 1816, aged 85 years and also Ann their daughter who died June 29th 1823 aged 72 years.
