Ledger Stones in Kent churches
Sara May Bartholomaie MAY
1703 St Dunstan's
Church, West Peckham
The medallion measures 29inch x 21½inch and is cut in relief on a
greyish stone 84inch x 40inch in the north Aisle.
Arms: Gu. a fesse between three billets or for MAY
impaling on a bend between three roundels as many swans for CLARKE.
Crest: A leopard’s head.

Ecclesiae & Parochie uxor qui decessit 14 die Januarii Anno 1703
Aetatis 43. Georgius May Praedictorum Bartholomaei ac Sarae Filius qui
decessit primo die Septembris 1698 Aetatis 3 annorum et 6 mensium et
intra Cancellos hujus Ecclesiae in humatus est. Bartholomaeus May Filius
natu maximus ? Bartholomaeus May ac Sarae qui decessit Lisbonae
Portugalliae Metropolis die 10 Augusti Anno 1705 Aetatis suae 25.
Postrano Bartholomaeus May hujus Parochiae Vicarius qui decessit 21 die
Junii 1709 Aetatis suae 59. Huc conjugis supersuant Filius ? cui Norman
EDVARD et Filius tres quarum nomina Elizabetha Sara et Francisca. Qui
conjuncticus saxum hoc piis anticientibus Posurent AD MDCCXIV.
