Toke's and others, Heraldic Ledger Stones in Kent churches

Ann BREWER  1720  St Lawrence's Church, Hawkhurst

The medallion, which measures 27inch x 22½inch is cut in relief on a blue ledger stone in the north chapel.

Arms: Gu, two bends wavy, or, a canton vair for BREWER impaling arg. a chevron az, between three coots, sa. heads arg. beaks tawny, for KILBURN. Crest: Out of a mural coronet, a hand ppr and arm, couped at the eblow, habited, gu, holding in the hand a battle-axe, arg.

Here lies interred ye Body of Ann BREWER late of Hawkherst, Widow and Relict of Tho. Brewer Esq. of West Farley (Farleigh sic) in Kent, Daughter of Richd KILBURN of this Parish, Esq. who departed this life the 1st of July in the year of Our Lord 1720 in the 71st year of her Age.
