Toke's and others, Heraldic Ledger Stones in Kent churches

William BOYS  1707  St Lawrence's Church, Hawkhurst

The medallion measures 23inch x 21inch and is cut in relief on a blue marble ledger stone in the north porch.

William BOYS Armiger obit 3d Junii Aetatis XLVII Ano Dni MDCXCVIII. William son of Samuel Boys and Jane his Wife died ye 21 of March 1707 Aged one yeare

Note: William Boys Esq. was the son of Samuel Boys (ob. 1688) and Philadelphia, d. Of Sir Thomas PARKER Bt of Ratton, Sussex. He married Elizabeth, da. of Sir Anthony SHIRLEY Bt of Sussex. Samuel Boys married Jane, d. Of Sir Richard Newdigate Bt. He died 1753.
