Abstract of Will from Hythe, Kent from Arthur Hussey’s Manuscripts

Will of Joan YONGE of Hythe, Kent 8 July 1523

Joan YONGE, widow, 8 July 1523.
Buried in churchyard beside my husband.
High altar 12d. To the behoofe of the church my best diaper table cloth.
Light of St Peter, St John, each 6d.
Julyane, wife of John GEORGE (died 1546) my eldest daughter, three flews (herring nets), my amber beads, best maser, etc.
Phillippa my daughter, wife of Thomas CURTENER (of Folkestone, died 1529), three flewys nets, two shot (mackerel) nets, etc., second maser, two silver spoons, etc.
Agnes my daughter three flewys nets, two shot nets, second girdle, etc, and to her daughter Julyane a cobbard, etc, pair of silver hooks.
Alexander BUCKLAND two shot nets. William COURTNAR two shot nets.
William, son of my daughter Agnes a silver spoon, and 20s when the house in the Damyott be sold.
Residue of goods after paying debts, etc. to John GEORGE and Thomas CURTNER my Executors to dispose for my soul. Also they to have my third part of the Crare (small trading vessel) called the Peter.
Witnesses – Dom John ALWAY, curate, Mr Alexander LYFFYNGTON, priest.
No Probate date. ?Next 8 July 1523, Vol. 1519-23.
