Will of Thomas PREEST of Goodnestone next Wingham 3 Jan 1531-2

Thomas PREEST, 3 January 1531-2.
Buried in churchyard of Holy Cross of Goodneston, on the east side under the palm (yew) tree.
High altar 12d, and to the church to buy a vestment £3.6s.8d. after death of my wife.
To buy three torches for the church 20s.
Executors – Richard ADAM, Edmund BAKER, with Thomas BAX overseer.
Wife have all moveable goods.
The tenement I dwell in with 11 acres of land to wife Joane for life, then seven acres to Richard ADAM and his heirs, etc. and Thomas BAX my godson have my tenement, paying 40s., viz. 10s. when my Will shall go to the Court for to hear the costs and charges of it, and the four acres.
Witnesses – Thomas HAMOND, John WALKER, John MOTT.
Probate 18 Jun 1532.
