William GOODDENSTON, gentleman, 12 March 1523-4.
Buried in the Chapel of Our Lady in the Church of Goodneston.
High altar 6s.8d; of Nonington 6s.8d. High altar a cloth of black and crimson sarcenet, with two curtains and a front with silk fringe.
Light of Corpus Christi; of Our Lady; Holy Cross, half a seame of barley each.
Jone my daughter a feather bed, etc. and two kine.
Residue after paying debts, etc. to wife Juliane my Executor, and Sir John GRENE, curate of Nonington, overseer and have 13s.4d.
Witnesses – Sir John GOODFELLOW my goostly father, Sir John GRENE, curate of Nonington, William TAYLOUR, William QUILTER, senior.
Wife Juliane have my place where I now dwell in, with all lands, woods, pastures during her life; also a tenement in Nonington late bought from Thomas FEKIN, a croft of four acres late Thomas GOODENSTON my uncle, a rent of 9s.9d. and four hens, and a little croft, paying yearly half a seame of barley of a certain tenement late Stephen A DETTS of Nonington.
Also Juliane have the keeping of Jone my daughter during her nonage.
